Tides ("the app") is a tide and marine conditions viewer for Android. This privacy policy describes how the app handles information.

Data We Do Not Collect

The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. Specifically:

• No account or registration is required.
• No name, email address, or contact information is collected.
• No device identifiers or advertising IDs are collected or transmitted.
• No analytics or crash reporting services are used.
• No third-party SDKs that collect data are included.

Location

The app may request access to your device's location solely to identify the nearest tide stations. Location data is used on-device only and is never transmitted to any server or stored outside your device.

Public Data Sources

The app retrieves publicly available tide, weather, and marine data from U.S. government APIs (NOAA CO-OPS and the National Weather Service). These requests do not include any personal information. No user data is sent to these services.

Local Storage

Favorite stations and notification preferences are saved locally on your device using Android's standard shared preferences mechanism. This data never leaves your device.

Notifications

If you enable tide or solunar notifications, all scheduling is handled entirely on-device. No notification data is transmitted to external servers.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date.
